My passion to camellias orginates from a report about camellias 25 years ago in the newspaper "Schöner Garten" and a visit in the nursery Peter Fischer. Camellias are native of south-east Asia.They have a famous tradition in arts and commerce. Four thousands years ago the Chinese used leaves of Camellia sinensis for tea and the seeds of C.oleifera for the extraction of oil.In the mid of last century the camellia lost favour and it was nearly forgotten by the western countries,who had hailed it so enthusiastically a century before.In the last decades there is a noticeable revival of interest in the camellia around the world.With my homepage I wish to infect other people,to try it with camellias, with this lovely evergreen winterblooming flowers.

You find camellias of my own collection and some pictures of further old camellias in Germany and pictures from travels to Cornwall,Italy and Portugal.I like to travel with my family wih a motorcaravan through Europe.
